With the generous support of the BCBA and its members, both firm and individual, we are proud to be able to award funds for deserving projects for this grant cycle. It is truly a pleasure to award and reward these projects and their organizations for the great work they do in the community. The BCBAF recognizes that it is important for the legal profession to stay active in the community, as without the community, there is no practice of law.

 

2021 BCBAF AWARDS Butler County Bar Association Foundation Awards $22,300.00
to Justice and Charity Related Causes

2022 BCBAF AWARDS Butler County Bar Association Foundation Awards $17,750.00
to Justice and Charity Related Causes

Pine Valley Bible Conference $2,000.00

To assist the cost of Butler County underprivileged youth to attend a year-round faith-based camp that features a residential summer camping program and other year-round programs for inner-city and underprivileged children ages 6-15 from Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence Counties. Each of our campers pays only a $35 registration fee toward the $850 cost of a week of camp.

Seneca Hills Bible Conference aka Seneca Hills Bible Camp and Retreat Center $1,500.00

To assist the cost of Butler County youth attend camp. Although we are located in Polk, we draw attendees for our residential summer camp program from 17 counties in western Pennsylvania and the largest number come from Butler County. Last year, 225 of our 753 campers came from Butler County.

Slippery Rock University Foundation — Institute for Nonprofit Leadership $1,750.00

To support the programming of the Recovering Life Initiative. The mission of this initiative is to enhance the lives of those in recovery from substance use disorder (SUD) and to education the general public about SUD.

2024 Can-Am Police-Fire Games / Butler County Tourism Foundation $2,500.00

The Can-Am Police-Fire Games, a multi-sport Olympic-style event, will be played in Butler County Pennsylvania July 16-21, 2024, at a variety of venues. The Games will feature competitors from fire and police departments, emergency medical service providers, Homeland Security, Border Patrol, corrections officers and much much more. The mission of the Can-Am Police-Fire Games is to promote physical fitness and camaraderie among these personnel and their agencies. The Games will bring over 2,500 participants and their families to Butler County and will have a significant economic impact on the area. And the best part is that all proceeds from the event will benefit Special Olympics Pennsylvania.

Children’s Advocacy Center of Butler County (f/k/a Butler County Alliance for Children) $5,000.00

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Butler County (CAC) provides court preparation services to an unserved population of children of Butler County who have been victims of abuse. Court preparation is a unique service that is tailored to the needs of child victims and their families in order to reduce anxiety related to the court process. Although court preparation services are therapeutic in nature, the focus of the service is to reduce secondary trauma related to anxieties that can be produced from the court system, as opposed to focusing on the events that resulted in criminal charges.

Neighborhood Legal Services (NLS) Butler Office $5,000.00

NLS proposes to establish a Safe at Home Custody Clinic for Butler Count to be responsive to the needs of the private bar, judiciary, client communities, and of low-income clients/families in Butler County involved in child custody disputes.
