2010 High School Mock Trials Begin

Student mock trial teams from Butler, Freeport, Moniteau, Seneca Valley and Slippery Rock  will  be taking part in the 27th annual competition sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division.

The competition begins Monday, February 1 at 6:00 pm in the Butler County Courthouse.

Students will be presenting their cases before Butler County Judges with volunteer attorneys and court house staff serving as jurors.

The PBA/YLD Mock Trial Competition gives students a working knowledge of our judicial system, teaches them dispute resolution techniques, and helps them to develop their public presentation and writing skills.
