As the Marcellus Shale region continues to produce valuable natural gas resources, concerns have arisen as to the environmental impacts surrounding gas drilling and the hydraulic fracturing process.

Examining the concerns and the regulations in place to avoid any potential environmental harm, this program will provide an in-depth discussion on various issues including: controls on surface water withdrawals and discharges, regulation of hydraulic fracturing, regulation of air emissions as well as a discussion on cumulative impacts related to exploration, drilling and leasing of state lands.
